Original Chinese Watercolour of Koi Carp by Chen Hong – Framed & Signed
A very beautiful and arresting authentic watercolour painting of koi carp by renowned Chinese calligrapher and painter, Chen Hong. You can really sense the movement of the fish through the water with the artist’s brush strokes and composition. Whilst not particularly old (we believe it dates from the 2000s and was purchased around 2010 following an exhibition in Cambridge), it’s nonetheless evocative of a bygone era. The traditional Chinese calligraphy, colour palette, mark-making and overall style look fantastic alongside vintage and midcentury pieces. The painting comes under glass, mounted and in its original bespoke frame.
