Vintage Teak 1970s Display & Drinks Cabinet by Turnidge of London
Mixing practical storage with display, this tall but not-too-wide unit was designed to be multi-functional. Simply but thoughtfully crafted with clean lines and unfussy details like the recessed handles, it dates from peak seventies and was made by reputable manufacturer, Turnidge of London. There’s plentiful hidden storage here with cupboards up top and below, as well as a mirror backed, display shelf for showing off treasures. The top cabinet is intended for bottles and mixing drinks with a lined, fall-door creating a platform for this.

Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned and polished this piece, applying a natural beeswax polish to the exterior wood surfaces but otherwise the finish is original. There is a large upper cupboard with a lined, fall door and mirrored back, designed for storing and mixing drinks. The interior is clean and tidy, and all hinges are in excellent working order. Below there is an open, glass display shelf against a mirrored back. Originally there would have been sliding glass doors across this section but these have gone at some point over the years. And at the bottom there is a two door cupboard with a clean interior and doors with hinges and closures in good order. A hole has been cut into the backing board of the lower cupboard but of course, this isn’t on show. The tapered legs have been added at a later date. Originally this unit would have had a plinth base but the legs here don’t look out of place or throw off the design balance. They have been securely fixed in place and work well in our view. There are minor knocks, marks and scuffs to the exterior wood surfaces which we have shown across our numerous photos and this wear and tear is reflected in our price. Overall, the wear and tear is light and in line with what we might expect with a vintage piece of this age and nature. The unit is very well-made and the Turnidge label can be seen inside the door. It dates from 1970s. Do browse our photos for an accurate sense of condition but should you have any questions, please come back to us. You’d be welcome to view the item too.
