Vintage G Plan ‘Fresco’ Double Chest of Drawers by VB Wilkins
From their flagship and ever-popular ‘Fresco’ range, produced in the 1960s and designed by Victor B Wilkins, this double stack chest of drawers is a handsome beast. With eight graduated drawers, this large, substantial piece gives so much storage. The vertical, wavy grain across the front is very fine flowing from drawer to drawer. We love too the gently rounded edges and elongated, inset drawer handles, softening the piece. The darker afromosia borders add further definition and distinction. It’s a expertly-crafted piece of furniture, that will slot easily into any modern home.
Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall good – very good, used condition. It has been checked and cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied to the exterior surfaces but otherwise the finish is original. All eight, graduated drawers feature dovetail joints, they slide with ease in their runners and have clean, tidy interiors. The exterior wood does show light signs of wear and tear and some sunlight fading, primarily on its top surface as you might expect. We have clearly shown this in our photos. We would categorise this as minor and in line with the item’s age and function. The red G Plan sticker is affixed inside the top drawer. It’s an expertly crafted piece of a very high quality. Large, substantial, solid and heavy! Do browse our photos for a good sense of condition. Should you have any questions or if you would like to view the piece, just let us know.
