Vintage E Gomme G Plan Quadrille Teak Stool in Pink Velvet
These compact vintage stools don’t come up too often and our hunch is this is because they’re really handy, useful pieces no one wants to part with. From E Gomme’s G Plan Quadrille range, it’s characterised by the cut-out, contoured frame / legs, rather reminiscent of an old-fashioned TV shape. Made for a short period between 1965 – 1972, it’s unusual to find one is such good shape. The teal is richly toned with a beautiful grain and the original pink velvet seat in good condition. An easy recover if that pink doesn’t quite suit and some new fabric would bring this unmistakeably retro piece right up to date. Use as a seat, footstool or side table.
Description
This original, vintage stool is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have cleaned the wooden teak frame and applied a natural wax polish. The original pink velvet upholstery is a little tired and has some superficial marks – see our photos. There’s a good chance you might wish to recover the stool which would be an easy job for the upholstery hobbyist as the fabric staples directly onto the underside of the stool – see our photo. The teak wooden frame / legs are in very good order with only minor knocks and scuffs. The original gold stamp can be found underneath. These stools were made between 1965-1972.
