Vintage 1960s Teak Flip-top Ottoman / Coffee Table by Cornwell Norton
A clever, dual purpose piece of furniture that was designed as part of a late sixties / early seventies range by Cornwell Norton, possibly for Parker Knoll. On one side it’s a black Formica coffee table but the table top can be flipped over to transform it into an ottoman to rest tired feet on in front of a favourite chair. It’s a nifty and unusual piece indeed. We have reupholstered the ottoman side and covered it in a smart, neutral charcoal tweed. A versatile piece with an unfussy, rather brutalist design, very much of its time, that will partner easily with other midcentury pieces or furniture from different eras.

Description
This original, vintage table is ‘sold as seen’. Overall it is in good – very good, used condition. The wooden table frame has been cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied but otherwise the finish is original. The coffee table side has a black Formica top which is in good order with just light signs of wear. The ottoman side has been newly reupholstered and covered in a wool blend charcoal tweed. You simply lift and flip the top to your preferred side. It’s well-made sturdy and solid with no signs of repair. Do browse through our photos for an accurate sense of its condition.
