Vintage 1960s Danish Velvet Loveseat Sofa With Matching Armchair
What an absolute joy this pair is. Hailing from Denmark and dating from the 1960s, the set is comprised of a neat loveseat for two and an accompanying tall backed armchair. The gold, richly patterned and textured velvet is a ray of sunshine and features an OTT floral repeat. It couldn’t match the contours of the seats more perfectly, accentuating their lines and curves. These are statement, attention-grabbing chairs that will add a good dose of old-fashioned of glamour wherever they reside. We can see them in a grand boudoir or perhaps opposite each other in a grown-up drawing room. We are selling them as a matching pair because we would love to keep them together but if you are interested in just acquiring one, please get in touch for a quote.
Description
This original, vintage pair is ‘sold as seen’. Both are in good, used condition. They have been vacuumed and thoroughly checked. The upholstery on the loveseat is in remarkably good order with the braid securely attached and just light fading from use. On the top back edge, the seam is a little loose which we’ve shown. This could be secured with a few stitches but equally if the sofa is going against a wall it wouldn’t show nor deteriorate further. The upholstery on the armchair is a little more worn on the arm ends including a small threadbare patch on the left hand arm which we’ve shown. We feel this is minor overall and not particularly noticeable. The wooden legs are lightly scuffed with age but nothing to flag. There are no wobbles or joint concerns, and they are both comfortable seats.
