Vintage 1960s Danish Green Wool Two Seater Sofa
A little vintage sofa making a big statement in its original vivid green wool threads! Imported from Denmark, it’s unmistakably midcentury and dates from the 1960s, with its chiselled lines and sharp angles. We love the wide, boxy arms, the low, lean profile and the tapered teak legs. Given its considerable years it’s in amazing condition with only light signs of wear. The green upholstery is a weave of mustardy greens, not too garish but enough to make it stand out. A super sofa to accompany a larger piece or an ideal, compact couch for a family space, snug or bedroom.
Description
This original, vintage sofa is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. The sofa has had a very thorough vacuum and we’ve applied a natural beeswax polish to the legs. Overall, it’s condition is fantastic. The four cushions are soft and plump with working zips and carry very few signs of wear. Likewise, the fixed upholstery on the frame is in very good order including the black finishing cloth underneath the cushions. There is only one area to flag which is some thinning on one arm end. It’s not particularly noticeable unless up close – please refer to our photo. Given the sofa’s age and function, we’re amazed it’s not more worn. That’s the wonder of wool – its very hardwearing. Sadly there is no maker’s mark affixed but this is a piece imported directly from Denmark.
