Set of Six Vintage 1960s Model 9073 Dining Chairs by McIntosh

A refined set of midcentury dining chairs from AH McIntosh of Kirkcaldy, made in the 1960s and mixing Scandinavian design influence with more traditional British style sensibilities.  McIntosh furniture is synonymous with superior craftsmanship and quality wood, and you can see that here in these elegant chairs. That curve on the back legs is just wonderful. The ruby red velvet seats are in remarkably good condition with just light signs of their age. If the upholstery fabric doesn’t suit though it’s an easy, straightforward job to recover the pads. Overall a fantastic set of fine vintage dining chairs, including two carvers for the heads of your dining table, and they come with an excellent pedigree.

Description

This set of six authentic, vintage dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. Overall all the chairs are in good – very good, used condition. The set is comprised of two carvers and four regular dining chairs. Each chair frame has been thoroughly cleaned, waxed and polished to restore their glow and bring them back to life. The ruby red velvet seats have been vacuumed. As you can see in our photos, the upholstery is in remarkably good order with just light signs of use. The great thing about drop-in seat pads like this is that they can be easily and cost-effectively recovered, should this fabric not be to your tastes. All six chairs are solid and stable with no wobbles. There are minor dents and scuffs on the chairs’ frames but nothing to flag.
