Set of Four Vintage G Plan Teak Dining Chairs by Leslie Dandy

Here is a fine set of four G Plan dining chairs, designed by Leslie Dandy and dating from the late 1960s / early 1970s. They’re solid teak, superbly constructed and we particularly love the deep colour and rich grain of the wood on these chairs. The seat pads are covered in a practical, wipe-clean, heavy duty vinyl that’s a mottled brown in colour. It’s in fantastic order and a neutral shade that will mix easily with colour schemes. Equally though, recovering these pads with something new would be an easy and inexpensive job. The overall chair design is tall and elegant, perfect for leisurely dinner parties with friends and family. With high, supportive backs that are contoured and wide comfortable seats, these dining chairs will partner effortlessly with any dining table, G Plan, midcentury, modern or otherwise, such is their universal appeal and design.

Description

This original, vintage set of four dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, the chairs are in very good – excellent, used condition. The solid teak chairs frames have been thoroughly cleaned, checked and polished with a 100% natural beeswax product. They are in excellent order overall, with only very minor, superficial scuffs here and there on the frames, as you might expect with furniture of this age. The brown vinyl upholstery is in very good order too. Should you wish to recover them, it’s an easy job for the professional upholsterer or the hobbyist as they are wraparound seats. All four chairs are solid and stable with no areas of concern.  As you can appreciate from our photos, these chairs are superbly crafted. The G Plan label is affixed to the underside of most of the seats.
