Set of Four 1960s Vintage G Plan Teak Dining Chairs by Leslie Dandy

A set of four G Plan dining chairs, designed by Leslie Dandy and dating from the 1960s. They’re solid teak, superbly constructed and we particularly love the colour and grain of the teak on these chairs. The seat pads have their original G Plan green velvet upholstery which is in fantastic order, considering its age and it’s a neutral shade that will mix easily with colour schemes. Equally, recovering these pads with something new would be an easy and inexpensive job. The overall chair design is tall and elegant, perfect for leisurely dinner parties with friends and family. With high, supportive backs and wide comfortable seats, these dining chairs will partner effortlessly with any dining table, G Plan, midcentury, modern or otherwise, such is their universal appeal and design.

Description

This original, vintage set of four dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, the chairs are in very good – excellent, used condition. The solid teak chairs frames have been thoroughly cleaned, checked and polished with a 100% natural beeswax product. They are in excellent order overall, with only very minor, superficial scuffs here and there on the frames, as you might expect with furniture of this age. The original green velvet upholstery is in very good order too. Again, there is the odd slight mark on the seat pads from light use but nothing to flag. They have plenty of life left in them as they are, but should you wish to recover them, it’s an easy job for the professional upholsterer or the hobbyist as they are wraparound seats. All four chairs are solid and stable with no areas of concern.  As you can appreciate from our photos, these chairs are superbly crafted. The G Plan label is affixed to the underside of the seats. Do browse our photos for a good sense of order and colour. If you’d like to view these chairs or if you have any questions, please get in touch.
