Description
This original, vintage dressing table is ‘sold as seen’. Overall it is in good, used condition. The piece has been cleaned, inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied and buffed on the external surfaces, but otherwise the finish is original. As such, it does come with some minor flaws and light wear and tear both inside and out – superficial scratches, dents and scuffs here and there, which can be seen across our photos so do have a good look. The three drawers are well-made, have secure original handles and slide with ease. They are a little marked with use inside but this is light. The right hand drawer has a small split in the base of the drawer which we’ve shown. The triptych mirror features a large central section and two side panels which can be angled back and forth. There are some age spots on the mirror surfaces in line with the piece’s considerable age and the back of the mirrors look a little scruffy but obviously this is unlikely to be on show. Our hunch is that the piece has been used as a desk or console in recent years and the mirrors stored separately, perhaps in a garage. There is the option to remove the mirrors and their uprights. We’ve shown photos of this. The main table top has some sunlight fading / patchiness and there are numerous marks and imperfections to the original finish on the exterior surfaces, sides and legs – our photos accurately convey the piece’s condition so do browse. It’s a well-made piece with an extraordinary design. Frustratingly there is no maker’s sticker in place and we’ve been unable to definitively attribute it.
