Pair of Vintage G Plan Carver Dining Chairs by Leslie Dandy

A very fine pair of tall , carver dining chairs, designed by Leslie Dandy for G Plan and dating from the late 1960s / early 1970s. They’re solid teak, superbly constructed and we particularly love the deep colour and rich grain of the wood on these particular chairs. The seat pads are covered in a pale brown / beige velvet that’s in fantastic order and a neutral shade that will mix easily with colour schemes. Equally though, recovering these pads with something new would be an easy and inexpensive job. The overall chair design is generous and elegant, perfect for leisurely dinner parties with friends and family. With tall, supportive backs that are contoured and wide comfortable seats, these dining chairs will partner effortlessly with any dining table –  G Plan, midcentury, modern or otherwise – such is their universal appeal and design.

Description

This original, vintage pair of dining chairs is ‘sold as seen’. The chairs are in very good – excellent, used condition. The solid teak chairs frames have been thoroughly cleaned, checked and natural beeswax polish applied. They are in very good – excellent order overall, with only very minor, superficial scuffs here and there on the frames, as you might expect with furniture of this age. The pale brown velvet upholstery is in very good order too with just light signs of use. Should you wish to recover them, it’s an easy job for the professional upholsterer or the hobbyist as they are wraparound seats. These chairs are superbly crafted, solid and stable with no areas of concern.
