Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned and polished this piece, applying a natural beeswax polish to the exterior wood surfaces but otherwise the lacquered, high sheen finish is original. The upper cupboard doors are securely attached on their original hinges, have their secure, original handles and working closures. It has a clean, tidy interior and a large full width shelf which although not adjustable, can be removed. The three drawers are very well made with dovetail joints, have solid wood cases and slide with ease. Their original handles are securely attached and all have clean, tidy interiors. The exterior surfaces do carry knocks, chips and signs of aging as you would expect with a piece of this significant age. There is a small 1.5 inch crack to the walnut veneer on one side which we’ve shown and the veneer has lifted a little. It’s unlikely to deteriorate further, it’s simply dried out exposing the joins here. Do refer to our photos for a good sense of its order. Overall, we feel the wear is part of its unique character and history. It’s purely superficial and doesn’t affect the function of the piece. It’s very well-crafted, solid and stable.
