They are hand-painted, most commonly in striking reds, blacks and greens, and signed by the artist underneath, each one unique and different to the next. With expressions ranging from sweet to bemused to happy to enigmatic, they are alluring, sculptural objects. The large red, lotus flowers on the body of this lady are especially vivid and bright. Description

This authentic, vintage kokeshi is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. It has been checked, carefully cleaned and polished with a natural beeswax, otherwise it is sold in its original condition so there are minor marks and scuffs, and a little sunlight fading.
