Original Midcentury Avalon Teak Chest of Drawers

Made by British maker, Avalon, this mid century chest of drawers in teak with a darker stripe of afromosia on the handsome, integrated handles, this is a particularly smart chest of drawers. It offers a great deal of storage with four wide drawers but a compact height. You could put a mirror on top and it serve well as a dressing table. Nicely made and thoughtfully designed, a practical vintage piece with much to offer.

Description

This is an original, vintage chest of drawers that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall very good, used condition. We thoroughly cleaned it and applied a natural beeswax polish to the exterior surfaces but have otherwise left the original finish well alone as it’s in such great order – there are just light signs of wear and tear from age and use. All four drawers slide with ease, are made with dovetail joins and have clean, tidy interiors. Sadly the original Avalon label is no longer inside the top drawers but it’s a well-documented design by them. It dates from the late 1960s /early 1970s.
