Original Ercol ‘Evergreen’ Tall Easy Armchair with Cushions

Never going out of fashion, Ercol’s lounge sofas and chairs are design classics. This easy chair from its Evergreen range is a particularly handsome model. With a contoured, tall back with multiple spindles, and the signature up-turned arms, it looks great from all sides. And the comfort it provides is outstanding. The back cushion is shaped and curved, providing superb support all the way up the spine. This is a fairly new model, most likely made in the past 15 years, and that goes some way to explain its near-flawless condition. It’s only been lightly used with very few signs of wear and tear. You might opt to change the original grey / blue fabric at some point but the official Ercol cushions are in such excellent order, they could be easily and cost-effectively recovered by an upholsterer. A timeless design in superb order, Ercol still manufactures this particular chair and new it retails at around £1900… so buying second-hand is a fantastic option!

Description

This is an original, vintage chair that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in excellent, used condition. We have lightly cleaned the wooden frame but have otherwise left this piece alone as it’s in such great order. This is a modern piece made in recent years, hence it’s fantastic condition. It comes with official Ercol fitted cushions and the fabric is a textured weave of pale greeny blue and grey with a faint square motif. The fabric is in outstanding, clean condition with just the lightest signs of previous use on the head rest and arm tops. All buttons are secure and the zips in good, working order. The shaped back cushion is held in place with Velcro strips which wrap around the spindles, and the arm cushions are fixed with poppers. The webbing underneath the seat cushion is in excellent order too. There are minor scuffs and marks to the wooden frame as you would expect with a used piece of this nature. Please refer to our photos. The chair is solid and sturdy with no wobbles or other signs of repair.  The inset Ercol stamp can be seen on the back of the frame.
