Neat Midcentury Minimalist Teak Desk with Frieze Drawer

A refined, minimalist, vintage desk / console with compact proportions. Elegantly designed, it’s beautifully simple but expertly balanced and crafted in teak. At the front there is a generous concealed, frieze drawer. Sadly we’ve not been able to establish the designer or maker – a real shame. We believe it’s midcentury, 1960s more specifically, and quite possibly Scandinavian in origin. Ideal for an MCM inspired office.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the desk inside and out and applied a natural wax polish to the exterior surfaces to refresh its original finish. It features a ‘hidden’ frieze drawer which slides with ease, is well crafted with dovetail joints and has a clean, tidy interior with just light signs of use. There are superficial marks here and there to the exterior wood surfaces but this is very minor with nothing to flag. It is very solid and sturdy with no signs of repair or areas of concern. Sadly there is no maker’s mark, a real shame as this is a fine, quality piece both in terms of design and construction.
