Midcentury Danish Brown Leather Bentwood ‘Skyline’ Chair by Hove Mobler

A smart, vintage, Danish bentwood, ‘Skyline’ chair by Hove Mobler in very good order. With its cantilevered frame, plump cushions and deep tilt, it’s a really comfortable chair but without the usual bulk associated with modern, large lounge chairs. The tan brown leather is soft, supple and in immaculate condition, and you sink back into its arms. Bentwood chairs of this style have a particularly striking, organic, curved form and aren’t ‘heavy-set’. Partner with other lounge seating or use as a stand-alone chair in a bedroom or office.

This is are original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good – excellent, used condition. It has been surface cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied to the bentwood frame. The sectioned leather cushion is in very good order with plump inners, buttons firmly attached and working zips. There are signs of light wear and wrinkling to the leather but this is what we would expect with vintage leather upholstery, very much part of its charm in our view. The wooden frame is solid and stable with no wobbles, areas of concerns or repairs. Sadly the marker’s sticker is no longer affixed to the underside of the chair but its a very well-documented Danish design of chair, manufactured by Hove Møbler throughout the 1970s.
