Midcentury Large Three Bay Ladderax Modular Shelf System with Right Hand Corner

Description

This is an original, vintage modular piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in fair – good, used condition. It has been cleaned and the teak elements polished with natural beeswax polish but otherwise the finish is original. The full inventory for this modular shelving system is:

In our experience, Ladderax systems are usually rather  knocked and scuffed, partly because of their age and partly because of their function as a multi-purpose, high-use piece of furniture. This set has faired pretty well but there are signs of wear and tear in line with its age and function. Scuffs, fading, knocks and chips to the teak veneer and scratches across the various cabinets, shelves and uprights. There are water marks on the top of the record cabinet, and some veneer chips to the side top edge of the other small cabinet but it’s worth noting this isn’t visible, hidden by the ladder upright when in position. Also one of the triangular corner shelves is quite heavily scratched. Although not deep, they are visible so we would suggest this shelf is placed up high. Please refer to our photos for a good sense of this set’s condition. Our price reflects the wear and tear. All four cabinets have clean and tidy interiors, as well as hinges and closures in good, working order. The two keys supplied work across all three lockable cabinets. The glass front bookcase has sliding doors that move with ease in their runners and a height-adjustable glass shelf inside. The nature of this modular system means it can be configured in all manner of ways – we would recommend that there are two people on hand during assembly. The uprights of this particular set are wall-leaning and the only specific wear to call out is to the three circular plastic feet that rest on the floor at the front.
