Midcentury 1960s ‘Langdon’ Dressing Table by Archie Shine
A special find, this particular midcentury dressing table. Made in the 1960s by Archie Shine, they are seldom seen on the market. It’s a refined, elegant bedroom piece made in teak and darker afromosia seen on the legs and trim. We love the borderless generous mirror and the neat, brass ring pull handles on the four drawers. And the condition is fantastic. It’s clearly been loved and taken great care of. (Stool not included.)
Description
This is an authentic, vintage dressing table that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the piece, applying a natural beeswax polish to the exterior surfaces to restore shine but otherwise the finish is all original. All four drawers are well constructed, slide with ease and have clean and tidy interiors. The original brass ring handles are securely attached. The generous mirror is in very good order and slots onto uprights at the back. The angle is fixed. It could be easily removed if not required. The exterior wood carries just very light signs of age and use – faint scuffs and superficial marks here and there. It’s minimal overall. Do browse our photos for an accurate sense of condition. It is sturdy and solid with no signs of repair. Sadly there is no maker’s mark but the design is well-documented so we attribute it with confidence and it dates from the 1960s. Should you have any questions or wish to view this piece, just get in touch. Note: the G Plan stool pictured is NOT included.
