Midcentury 1960s Afromosia Chest of Drawers by Richard Hornby for Fyne Ladye
As handsome as they come, this dark, solid afromosia chest of drawers dates from the 1960s and was designed by Richard Hornby for high-end furniture maker, Fyne Ladye for Heals. Description
This original, vintage chest of drawers is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. It has been cleaned inside and out, and a light oil applied to the exterior wood surfaces to revive it a little but otherwise the finish is original. The three drawers slide with ease, are beautifully made with dovetail joints and all have clean, tidy interiors. And overall, there is just the light wear and tear to the exterior wood surfaces in line with its age and function, including a small area on the right side where it looks as if if something has been affixed to the piece then removed – it’s shown in our photos and isn’t very visible. Do browse our photos to get an accurate sense of its fantastic condition. It’s a beautiful piece that’s been expertly crafted. It’s solid and stable with no areas of concern. There is no maker’s mark in place but this is a well-known design and we attribute it with 100% confidence.
