Danish Extendable Teak Dining Table by Benny Linden
This is something of a design classic. A solid teak extending table, originally designed by Benny Linden of Denmark in the 1960s and constructed to a very high specification in Thailand before being exported to Europe. It’s an eye-catching, statement piece of midcentury design whose appeal endures as truly classic design does. With its curvaceous pedestal legs and a decorative border which is a feature of many of Benny Linden’s dining tables. When extended, this generously sized table will comfortably seat eight, whilst its smaller incarnation seats four perfectly. A beautiful piece for the stylish, considered modern home.

Description
This is an original piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall excellent, used condition. We have cleaned the table and applied a natural beeswax polish. This particular table dates from the 1990s and is part of a set acquired together that included six dining chairs (also available as a separate listing). The table has spent most of its life extended, so there is no variation in colour in the central section, often problem with extendable tables. Having said, that the extending mechanism works perfectly. Clips are unhinged underneath and the two table halves are pulled apart and the extension slotted into position. The structure of the table is solid, and there is no sign of any damage or repairs. There are the usual superficial minor scuffs and marks that you would expect from a piece of this age and nature, including some fading to the finish on the feet, but nothing that detracts from the overall look of this stylish table. The frame and legs are solid teak and the legs are fitted with adjustable feet.
