Original Midcentury Danish 1970s Oak Framed Three Seat Sofa
Sadly we’ve not been able to definitively confirm the maker of this gorgeous three seat, vintage couch… it’s very similar to a Niels Eilersen model, also close to Ekorness sofas. Regardless, this is Danish in origin and it dates from the late seventies. It’s in superb condition and is a beautifully crafted piece with an on-show, bench-style light oak frame with over-sized, chunky cushions on top for perfect lounging. It looks as good from the back and sides as it does from the front so this would be a make an excellent space divider in an open plan room. The wool upholstery in a beige / oatmeal weave with a white stripe running through it is neutral enough to slot into any colour scheme and work alongside sofa and seats of different styles and textures. Comfort-wise, the Scandinavians knew how to get it right and this balances support and structure with large, contoured cushions.

Description
This original, vintage sofa is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. It has been checked and the oak frame cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied but otherwise the original finish has been left alone as it’s in such fantastic order. There are eight cushions in total – three seat, three back and two arm cushions. All cushions are in very good order with plump inners, working zips and secure buttons. The original upholstery is a striped, neutral wool weave and is in remarkably good condition – it’s been taken great care of. There are no marks or areas of wear to flag. The wooden frame carries very light signs of wear here and there but again, nothing to flag. Overall, the sofa is well-made, solid and sturdy with no wobbles or areas of concern. Sadly we haven’t been able to establish the maker but this is a Danish import that dates from the late 1970s. Do browse our photos for an accurate representation of its super condition.
