Pair of Original Vintage Ercol Goldsmith Carver Dining Chairs

Ercol’s vintage Goldsmith chairs are among some of their most popular. Tall and elegant with the signature ‘moustache’ top, this pair of carver dining chairs come with wide, curved, upturned arms, designed to reside at the heads of the dining table but nowadays the carvers serve well as desk chairs or occasional seats. They come in their original finish and date from the 1970s. Constructed with beech legs and English elm seats, they are solid wood so extremely robust and well-made. This pair would also looked fantastic around the kitchen / dining table mixed with other vintage Ercol chair styles for a country cottage, mix-and-match look.

Description

This original, vintage chair pair is ‘sold as seen’. The chairs are in good – very good, used condition. We have given the chairs a thorough check, clean and polish with a natural beeswax but otherwise we have left their original finish alone so there is some variance chair to chair as one has clearly been more used than the other. There are some superficial scuffs and marks here and there, as you might expect with furniture of this age and purpose, including a scratch on the top back of one of the carvers which we’ve shown in our photos. Overall though, we would class the wear and tear on the chairs as light and minor. They are superbly crafted, stable and sturdy with no repairs. The blue label is affixed to the back and they are stamped underneath.  Do browse our photos for an accurate sense of their great condition.
