If you’re on the hunt for a smart, well-made, reliable family dining table, you can’t go wrong with this handsome model from G Plan. From their ever-popular Fresco range, it’s heavy and robust, made in teak with a darker afromosia border, adding a subtle note of distinction. It’s a generous oval for four to six depending on the dining chairs plus we always think oval is the best shape for encouraging interaction and lively chat over dinner. It can easily switch up for bigger entertaining with G Plan’s patented, hidden extension. Pull the two sides apart and fan out the extension to comfortably accommodate eight dinner guests.

Description

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have checked and cleaned the table, applying a natural beeswax polish but otherwise the original finish has been left alone. There are signs of aging, primarily on the table top with some sunlight fading, creating areas of light patchiness which can be seen across out photos. This is minor in our view hence making the call not to restore but you could opt to do this for a more even tone. Other than this the wear and tear elsewhere is very light. The hinges, foldout mechanism and runners are all in very good working order. It’s a very well-made piece that’s weighty, solid and sturdy.
