Vintage 1970s Gold Tiered Pendant Lampshade by R Van Ingen

The full glowing glory of this Scandinavian, 1970s, aluminium lampshade is revealed when it’s switched on. Light is reflected upwards as well as downwards creating a warm ring around the top of the shade along with plentiful light below. The brushed gold finish is subtle and neutral, a colour that can mix with pretty much any scheme. Restored and rewired with gold, fabric coated braid, it comes with some light signs of wear but regardless, this is a handsome, vintage light ready for today’s homes.

Description

This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. We have carefully cleaned and fully restored it with new, compliant fittings and energy efficient bulb, and with a generous length of gold fabric-coated, braided flex, ready for it to be wired into position. There are surface marks and scuffs here and there, along with some tarnishing, but this is not particularly noticeable and certainly wouldn’t be when elevated and in position. This wear and tear is what we might expect with a piece of this age and material, and clearly shown in our pictures. Although no marker’s label, we attribute this to R Van Ingen – it’s a well-documented design.
