A pair of matching, vintage teak bookcases by British maker, Herbert E Gibbs that date specifically from 1970 – the original shop tags and labels are still attached to the backs! With sliding glass doors, your books and treasures will be kept safe and dust-free inside. The design is purely functional – no-nonsense and utilitarian – but they are very well-made as you would expect from this fine furniture maker. Their design and slimline proportions mean these cabinets can sit discreetly against a wall without intruding into the room too much. These are ideal for a child or student bedroom, a hallway or landing. They can also be set side by side or into a corner to create your very own reading spot.

This pair of original, vintage bookcases is ‘sold as seen’. Overall, they are in good – very good, used condition. The pieces have been thoroughly cleaned and a natural beeswax polish applied to the exterior wood but otherwise the finish is original. Each bookcase features two height adjustable shelves. These shelves and the interiors are all in very good, clean and tidy order, as shown. The glass doors slide on their grooves with ease and are in very good order too. There are very light signs of wear and tear to the exterior wood, to be expected with a vintage item. They are well made, solid and stable, with no signs of repair or areas of concern. The Herbert Gibbs label is in place on the back of both pieces, along with paperwork from the shop they were purchased from. Do browse our photos for an accurate sense of their condition.
