Danish 1970s Brown Double Bubble Spotlight Floor Lamp by Frandsen – Fully Restored
These vintage, Danish bubble lamps make a sculptural statement without showing off. They’re wonderfully quirky pieces. Obviously retro, their vintage charm works in a modern setting, mixing well with more contemporary pieces and styles. This double light floor lamp in a glossy chocolate brown has been carefully restored and although it carries scuffs and dents here and there, these don’t detract from its appeal and function in our view. The spotlights can be height adjusted and angled to illuminate just the right area. It hails from Denmark, dates from the 1970s and is attributed to Frandsen with a label on the base.
Description
This original, vintage floor lamp is ‘sold as seen’. It is in fair, used condition and has been restored with care and expertise. The lamp has been rewired with new, black fabric-braided flex, energy efficient bulbs, new independent switches on a floor switch and plug, and it has been PAT tested to meet modern regulations. The spotlights can be angled by rotating them on their original, black plastic arms. They can also be height-adjusted on the main stem by unscrewing / tightening these arms. As you can see from our photos, the two spotlights carry numerous scratches, dents and tarnishes. We don’t feel this impacts the appeal of the lamp too greatly but they are nonetheless there – do browse our photos. Unfortunately these bubble shades are prone to getting knocked over the years. There are further minor scuffs on the weighted base and stem. This wear has been reflected in our price. The Frandsen maker’s label is in place on the base and it dates from the 1970s. Please browse our photos for a good sense of its condition. Should you have any questions, please get in touch.
