Vintage 1930s Dark Oak Set of Index Card Drawers with Brass Handles

What a beautiful, old thing this is… a vintage, six drawer set of filing drawers, originally designed for card indexing. An industrial piece made for the workplace, the design is simple and practical but it’s expertly crafted in solid oak with on-show dovetail joints on the corners and neat, tidy drawers. The original brass name plates and pull handles are in place and in four out of six drawers, there are sliding dividers too. Pieces from the past like this can be repurposed in some many ways, finding a new use and life in pretty much any room in the home. And this is larger than most card drawers – we’ve shown some standard paperbacks alongside it to help give a sense of scale.

Description

This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. It has been cleaned inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied to the external wood. All six drawers slide with ease and have clean, tidy interiors with only light signs of wear. Four drawers have their original sliding dividers in place. The brass name plates and pull handles are original, in fantastic shiny order and are securely affixed. There are some minor scuffs and knocks to the exterior wood surfaces but overall this is light and commensurate with its age. It’s very well made.
