Description
This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition. We have cleaned the trolley and applied a natural beeswax polish to the wood but otherwise the finish is original. The table converts from trolley to table by pulling out the bottom knob and then lower shelf pulls up as the upper shelf moves back to create two, flat table leaves and the table top. The knob is pushed back in to hold the table leaves in position. To return to a trolley, the knob is pulled out and the lower and upper shelves gently rotates back into their former positions. Again, the knob is pushed in to stop any movement. It’s rather clever and all mechanisms are in very good working order, flowing with ease. The two table tops and sides are finished in deep red, speckled Formica-style panels which can be readily wiped clean. There is a little discolouration from aging to this finish but overall they are in very good order. The solid oak frame carries some wear and tear but overall this is minor and superficial. Just knocks and scuffs here and there. The castors are original too and roll with ease.
