Description
This original, vintage chair is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have given the chair a thorough clean, applying a natural beeswax polish to the wooden frame and nourishing leather cleaner to the cushion. It is comprised of a single, three-part sectioned cushion, moored in place with Velcro at the top and poppers in the bottom back, however, as shown in our photos, the corresponding poppers on the cushion are worn and no longer functional. This has no bearing on the chair or cushion – the cushion stays firmly in position regardless and the missing poppers and straps are unseen. Other than this, the leather cushion is in very good order. The leather is soft, supple with securely attached buttons, working zips and plump inners. The leather arm rest slings are in good order too with just one minor blemish shown in our photos. There are wrinkles and surface marks here and there on the leather which you can see in our photos but this is very part of aged leather’s appeal. The canvas and suede back panels underneath the cushions and at the back are in good order. There are some light marks here and there from use and some wear along the top back edge, where it has rubbed against a wall. There is a working mechanism on each chair that raises the tilt. There are two positions. The dark stained wooden frame is solid and stable with minor scuffs and marks to the finish – again, please refer to our photos. Overall this is minor and doesn’t detract from its good looks. There is no maker’s label but this is very fine quality, well-documented chair that we attribute with confidence to Jeki, designed by Ebbe Gehl and Soren Nissen, and made in the seventies.
