Description
This original, vintage bureau is ‘sold as seen’. Overall it is in good – very good, used condition. It has been cleaned inside and out, and a natural beeswax polish applied to the exterior surfaces. The lower cupboard doors feature a lock and key and they move with ease with secure hinges and handles. The interior features a fixed shelf and is generally clean and tidy but there is a faint stain along the right hand edge shown in our photos. The top door pull down with ease to create the desk platform for working on. This has a vinyl writing area in good, clean order and the interior features fixed pigeon holes, also in good clean condition. The external wood does have minor, light surface knocks and marks here and here to the original finish. This includes a small blemish on the top and a dent at the back edge where it’s been knocked. Overall, the wear is minor and in line with its age. The Turnidge maker’s mark is inside the door and this piece dates from the 1960s. It’s very well-made, solid and stable, a high quality piece. Do browse our photos for a true sense of condition and colour. Any questions, please ask and you’d be welcome to come and view the item.
