Description
This is an original, used chair that is ‘sold as seen’. This armchair has been well looked after and is in good – very good, vintage condition. We have cleaned, oiled and polished the wooden frame. There are signs of wear and tear to the original finish, most notably on the arms which always bear the brunt of use. We’ve opted to leave this along as we feel it’s in line with the chair’s age and part of its character. If you wished to refinish and varnish this, you could as it’s solid wood. Browse our photos for a good sense of the frame’s condition. The Pirelli webbing is in very good order, taut and sag-free. The two upholstered cushions in a textured orange velvet are in very good order too with plump inner foams, working zips and no marks. It’s worth noting that if the fabric isn’t to your taste, these bespoke cushions could be recovered, a significant time and cost saving. If you research ‘Ercol cushions’ you will see these alone command a high price. It also comes with two accompanying down-filled, square scatter cushions. Sadly blue Ercol sticker is no affixed to the back of the chair but we attribute it with 100% confidence and we date it to the 1970s.
