Vintage G Plan Rectangular Extending Teak Dining Table
We see vintage G Plan dining tables regularly, such was their broad appeal and their fantastic build quality, standing the test of time. This particular rectangular extending model though is a rarer find with a more refined, elegant design. We love the gentle curve of the ends. It’s in near-immaculate, original condition and will comfortably seat six in its regular, non-extended mode, and up to eight when at maximum capacity. The extension cleverly and discreetly slots underneath, pulled out from one end when required. As you would expect from G Plan, it’s really well-constructed in teak with a darker afromosia border, a signature design feature seen across its Fresco range.
Description
This is an original, vintage table that is ‘sold as seen’. It’s in very good – excellent, used condition. We have thoroughly cleaned this piece and applied a natural beeswax polish but the original finish is outstanding so we’ve left well alone. The extending section is hidden underneath the centre of the table, slotting in on felt-lined runners. This is pulled out from one end and the two halves are pulled part. The extending section is inserted and the two sides pushed back together to create a seamless table top. All mechanisms, hinges and runners are in excellent working order, moving freely and with ease. There are very minor scuffs and knocks here and there to the legs and edges but nothing to call out. Overall, this very fine vintage table is in super order, Sadly the red G Plan label is no longer in place but it’s a well-documented piece by the brand so we attribute it with confidence.
