Original Danish Rosewood Display Cabinet & Bookcase

Combining smart Scandinavian good looks with home needs, this tall-but-shallow cabinet and open bookcase delivers handsome display space with lots of practical storage. The open, upper bookcase section has a height-adjustable shelf, and the overall height of the piece means the top surface can be used as a shelf too. The lower cabinet features a curved inset handle which pulls down the door to reveal further sectioned shelves inside. We love the tapered, turned legs giving this larger piece space. Elegant and simple in design, it’s the stunning rosewood veneer that elevate this from the ordinary, with the rich tones and patina across the door fronts standing out in particular. It hails from Denmark and we date it to the late 20th century as it’s in such super order.

This is an original, vintage piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good – excellent, used condition. We have cleaned the cabinet inside and out but otherwise left the original finish well alone. The lower cupboard features an inset handle, a pull down door and has shelves inside. The interior is very clean and tidy, and the door hinges are in excellent working order. The upper, open section features a height adjustable shelf and again all the interior wood is in very good order. There are some light marks to the exterior finish here and there but nothing to flag. Very well made, solid and stable. Unfortunately there is no maker’s mark but it is a Danish original, imported directly.
