Pair of Vintage Ercol Model 365 ‘Quaker’ Carver Dining Chairs
These tall, arched ‘Quaker’ chairs are amongst the most elegant of Ercol’s extensive dining chair range and are some of their most popular – they never hang around. They were originally produced from the late 1950s to the mid 1980s. Made from solid British elm and beech ‘blond’ woods with five-spindled backs and a generous seat height, these wider seat models offer much comfort and support. This pair is comprised of two carver dining chairs. There are some minor knocks here and there to the factory finish but overall they’re in great, original condition. Obviously originally intended for the head of the dining table, these models with arms also serve well as occasional seats in hallways, studies, family rooms, bedrooms, as well as being supportive desk chairs.
Description
These are original, vintage chairs that are ‘sold as seen’. They are in very good, used condition. They have been cleaned and a neutral, natural wax polish applied but otherwise their original finish has been left alone as it’s in good order. Both chairs have minor, aged-related scuffs and marks, which you can get a good sense of from our photos, but they are solid and sturdy with no wobbles or signs of repair. The main areas where the original finish has worn are the arm tops and the top of the curved backs. Please refer to our photos – the wear and tear is in line with the chairs’ age. The original Ercol stickers can be seen on the back of both the chairs and they are stamped underneath. We believe these chairs date from the 1970s.
