Set of Six Vintage Ercol Model 391 Dining Chairs

First produced in the 1950’s, these Ercol ‘Model 391’ Windsor dining chairs have stood the test of time. They are design classics with enduring appeal and they look as good today as they did back then. This is a particularly sought-after model, highly prized with its splayed back spindles that finish beautifully below the line of the seat. It has neat, compact proportions which make it ideal for modern dining areas which can have limited space. These are being sold as a matching set of six and are in super, original condition.

Description

This original, vintage set of six chairs is ‘sold as seen’. All the chairs are in overall very good, used condition. The chair seats have been carefully cleaned and waxed, a partial restoration to retain the original finish here. The legs and backs have been professionally stripped, sanded, oiled and waxed. There are no wobbles or joint concerns, and no repairs visible, but there are some minor surface scuffs and marks as you would expect with used, vintage chairs of their age. All the chairs have the Ercol British Standards Kite Mark stamped on the underside and one chair still has the original blue Ercol label on the back, dating the set to the early 1960s .
