Vintage Danish Tan Leather & Black Bentwood Frame Lounge Chair
A really unusual Danish bentwood chair, the design is sweet simplicity creating a dramatic, sharp-lined silhouette from all angles. Its proportions are neat and compact but this doesn’t compromise its comfort for a moment – the tilt of the hung seat and the soft, plush leather cushion make it very loungable. The open frame also adds to the ‘lightness’, creating lots of space in and around its form. A fantastic, clever piece of midcentury design from the 1970s and in very good order, we love the over-sized square tan buttons that exaggerate the plumpness of the cushions perfectly against the black rigid lines of the bentwood frame.

Description
This original piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in very good, used condition. The leather upholstery has been cleaned, as has the frame. The original tan brown leather upholstery is in very good order on the sectioned, single cushion. There’s very little light wear and wrinkling to the leather but this is minimal and barely noticeable. Likewise, the finishing canvas underneath is also in excellent order. The cushion inners are soft and plump, and the large square buttons are securely fixed in position. The cushion simply sits on the chair frame, there are no attachments but the design means it stays in position with no slipping. The chair is superbly constructed, solid and sturdy with no wobbles or creaks. There are some very light scuffs here and there to the wooden frame but as you can see from our photos, these are very minor indeed. There is no maker’s mark on the frame sadly but it was imported directly from Denmark and we believe it to be Danish, dating from the 1970s.
