Antique Edwardian Mahogany Desk with Leather Embossed Top

At well over 100 years old, this antique desk, dating from the turn of the 20th century, carries life’s scars and knocks on its surfaces but it’s still going strong! It has particularly neat, tidy proportions so won’t take up huge space in a room but it also offers plentiful storage with three drawers. The inset green leather table top has a gold, embossed edge and has aged wonderfully in our eyes. This wear is very much part of its history and character. Solidly made, built to last, this has many years of active service left. It’s a real, old charmer.

Description

This original, vintage piece is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good, used condition but comes with considerable wear and tear so do give our photos a browse for an accurate sense of this. We have given this piece a good clean and applied a natural beeswax polish to the exterior wood but have otherwise left the wear alone – it’s very much part of its charm and appeal in our eyes. The three drawers are well made in solid wood and with dovetail joints. Their interiors are lightly marked with use but it’s nothing untoward. There is a pull-out rest too above the top drawer. Sadly there is no key for the lock. The leather inlay on the table top is heavily marked but it’s securely moored in place and we love this aging very much!
