Original Norwegian 1970s Westnofa Red Leather Bentwood Chair
A handsome, low, bentwood chair in fox-red leather that hails from 1970’s Norway and is attributed to Westnofa. A wonderful, light-weight lounge chair that can work in the modern home as a standalone seat or partnered with other seating. Its fluid, ‘open’ form means it’s significantly less bulky than a more conventional easy chair, taking up much less space. And of course, vintage, aged leather can be a hard-wearing, practical choice too.
Description
This is an original, used piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, vintage condition. The chair has been thoroughly cleaned and the leather nourished with a natural, neutral balm. The sectioned leather cushion is soft, supple and in good order with the working zips and secure buttons. The sectioned cushion ties with cord to the top of the frame. There are some wrinkles, sunlight fading and surface marks to the leather. These are in line with how leather wears through use and is part of its character. Do look through our photos to get an accurate sense of the condition. The canvas and cord under the cushion is in good order too with just light wear from use but some sunlight fading on the back. The blond bentwood frame is solid and stable with surface marks and scuffs here and there. The Westnofa maker’s sticker is still attached underneath. Although most of the wording has worn away but it nonetheless adds cache to this classic seat.
