Original 1970s Midcentury G Plan Fresco Teak Sideboard
The appeal of vintage G Plan sideboards endures and it’s no wonder. They are such well-made, handsome pieces with practicality in mind. This more compact model from G Plan’s ‘Fresco’ range is in very good original order – it’s been well taken care of in its previous lives. With three cupboards and three generous drawers, this will be put to good use in a busy, family home, providing ample storage, either in the dining room, lounge or family space. We like too the slightly darker teak finish.
Description
This original, used piece is ‘sold as seen’. It’s in very good, vintage condition. We have thoroughly cleaned the sideboard and applied a natural beeswax polish. As you would expect with G Plan, it’s a really well-made item, superbly constructed. All doors move with ease with closures in good order. The three drawers slides with ease too. The central drawer is sectioned for cutlery with removeable slats and is lined with green baize. All interior wood is clean and tidy with just light marks from use, and all three cupboards feature height-adjustable shelves. There are some very minor scuffs to the external wood but overall it’s in remarkably good order. There are some patches of sunlight fading on one end but not enough to warrant trying to remove in our view. The red G Plan label is still affixed inside the left cupboard door. A fine quality piece of home furniture.
