Vintage 1960s Swedish ‘String’ Modular Shelf System Nisse Strinning Style

This is a versatile and super stylish, wall-mounted modular storage solution, emulating the design of Swedish architect, Nisse Strinning. Dating from the late 1960s / early 1970s, the elegant, matt black metal uprights support a generous teak drop-down cabinet, two shelves and a matching wire magazine rack. Early string systems are hard to come by and this is a particularly neat example in great condition. A practical piece of Scandinavian-inspired, midcentury furniture that will make both a practical and handsome addition to any contemporary interior and it would look at home in any room too.

Description

This is an original piece that is ‘sold as seen’. It is in overall very good-excellent, used condition. We’ve lightly cleaned the cabinet and shelves using a natural beeswax polish. They didn’t require any further restoration, such is their good order. There are very minor, faint surface marks here and there to the external wood but nothing noticeable or to call out. The wooden elements are in excellent order, including the cabinet interior. The black metal uprights are also in very good order. There is a little paint on the back (the length that lays against the wall) but this doesn’t show.
